I got this at a petrol station for $9.99 so honestly I though it was going to be a bit shit. First sip though? Actually not bad. The lime flavour is strong, sharp, and tastes surprisingly natural. It's not too sweet either. No tequila bite because it's wine based. You know what kind? Apple wine. I didn't even know that was a thing. I can't taste apple, which is probably good. It's probably doing a bit of work with the lime, making it a bit fruitier without turning the whole thing into some weird apple margarita. I found that I didn't actually miss the tequila which caught me off guard. This feels like the sort of thing I should object to on principle, but apparently I don’t. I wonder if this would be better with tequila, but then I think I'd miss what the apple wine is doing. At the end of the first glass I realised I wanted the second. By halfway through the second glass, I almost wished I'd gotten another bottle, but given that the strength is on the higher end, petrol-station-Tom accidentally made a good call there.
